We use tough standards in our testing. In fact we use the same accuracy standards that the NRA's American Rifleman magazine uses. We use five five-shot groups using at least three ammunition products. This makes for a tough standard and shot groups will always be larger when compared with the three shot groups that some publications who conduct the testing of firearm's accuracy use. When testing for reliability we will use the standard 200 round string without any cleaning or maintenance in between shots.
In the case of parts falling off of or out of the firearm being tested,
the test will be immediately stopped and the firearm will receive
a review that reflects the need to stop the testing early.
We feel that 200 rounds is more than any civilian would be likely to fire in a single incident of self defense or in a hunting situation without cleaning their weapon.
Unless otherwise stated the five five-round group standard will apply to our ammunition testing as well.
Standards for other products such as optics, holsters, clothing and various other things that are related to shooting and firearms will be developed and stated on a case by case basis.
If a rating is given, it will be from one to five "stars" with one being the lowest and five being the highest.
Also, if a rating is given the final rating will be an average of the ratings given by the individuals who are doing the testing.
All tests will be photographically documented.
Thank You,
